Well, Thanksgiving is tomorrow so I was thinking I should post about some of the things I am thankful for. I love to write and I've been told that all of my posts are like a story so this one isnt going to be short, just like all the other ones haven't been either.
The first and most important thing I am thankful for is my family. I am grateful that I can be myself with them. That they know when I'm sad and how to make it better. I am grateful for the men in the family that are all worthy priesthood holders and would be willing to give me a blessing if I needed one. I am grateful that I can talk to any of them about any of my problems and they won't judge me or make me feel bad. I am so grateful for the little ones in my family now, Madelyn, Hiett, Kolby, Kaylin, & Caleb. All 5 have unique ways of making me smile. I love them all very much.
Next, I am so thankful for the church. I am thankful for my Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. I dont know where I would be or who I would be if I didnt have their love and support in my life, especially now. I am thankful for Jospeh Smith for restoring the gospel back on the earth for me. I am thankful to him for translating the Book of Mormon. I am so thankful for the Book of Mormon and the joy it brings to my life. I am grateful for prayer and the power it has on me and my life. I am grateful for my trials and how they make and mold who I am and make me stronger. I am grateful for our prophet today, Thomas S. Monson, for being a great role model and leader. I am grateful for all my blessings.
Next, I am thankful for my friends. For the great examples they are in my life. Examples of faith, wisdom, virtue, & so many more. A few weeks ago I was thinking to myself about how many best friends I have and I thought of almost 20. I am grateful that they were all placed in my life when they were to help make me strong and build me up. I love them all.
Of course I am thankful for temporal things too. Food, clothes, shoes, money, blankets, my laptop, my cellphone, movies, music, TV, shopping, nature, etc.. etc.
Since Thanksgiving and Christmas are coming up, I hope all of us will stop and think about what we are thankful for and what makes us really happy. I hope its not our I-phones or Rockband, but our family, friends, the gospel.. those things that make us the most happy we can be. Our best selves. I hope we will all try to remember the real meaning of the season. And thats Jesus Christ, He is the reason for the season. The one reason why we celebrate CHRISTmas!
