I'm leaving the country again in 7 days! Does anyone want anything while I'm up there? Something that they ONLY have in Canada that they don't have in the states? :)

I'm excited to travel again, its been since July that I've flown and I just want to get away for a few days! Then come back and hopefully have something to come back to. (a job, mostly) :)

Monday-Thursday Nights...

MONDAY!!!!
DANCING WITH THE STARS!!!! YAY! I have always LOVED ballroom dancing and I loved the show "So You Think You Can Dance". I especially love DWTS because it has some of my favorite stars from my favorite shows, Kyle Massey, Audrina Patridge, Brandy, Jennifer Gray, and most importantly...
THIS LOVELY DELIGHT.... MIKE (The Situation)!!! I was super stoked with the results show tonight that reveled, HE WAS SAFE FOR ONE MORE WEEK! He better step up his A game next week or its die time! (Just Kidding) pssstt.... I voted for Mike 12 times on abc.com... you should too.. next Monday night after 9pm! :) TEAM SITUATION!!!
TUESDAY!!!!
GLEE!!!!!!! (Please ignore that it says it premieres on May 19, that was season 1) Season two premiered TONIGHT!!!! Glee is about a group of high school kids trying to fit in at their school by joining the Glee Club. I LOVE this show because its like the drama of a drama show, but then it has music and songs that I know and that I can sing along to! Its just great! Thanks to Leah and Monica for showing me this show! I am hooked! And.... I love the guy in the picture, Finn Hudson on the show, or Cory Monteith, the actor who plays him.

Also, the results show of Dancing with the Stars is on Tuesday nights, but luckily they showed the footage from Monday nights at the same time they showed Glee so I didn't have to miss who got voted off. :)
WEDNESDAY!!!!
HELLCATS!!! This is a new one I have grown to love and premiered on the CW just two weeks ago. This show is about a girl who loses her scholarship and decides to try out for cheer at the college to get a scholarship. It stars, Ally Michalka and Ashley Tisdale. If you like cheerleading and DRAMA, like I do then you will LOVE Hellcats!
THURSDAY!!!!
THE OFFICE!!!! YAY! The Office Season 7 starts THIS Thursday on NBC! Steve Carell has stated that season 7 will be his last, and I say, "The Office will not be the same with him gone!" I have been watching the Office for YEARS now, and I just love it. I admit at first I didn't really see a point to The Office and thought it was rather "lame". But now, I am hooked and want all the seasons on DVD. (Lucky Leah, who has them all. I envy you!)
JERSEY SHORE!!!!
Jersey Shore started it's 2nd season a few months ago, and I just love it. I love other people's drama, and these people are so loud and obnoxious, so it's even more funny. My favorite is by far Mike (The Situation). But in close seconds is, Jenni (JWoww), Nicole (Snooki), and Pauly D.
Man, I love this show and I really hate Angelina! It comes on the channel MTV.

As you can see, I love my shows and I wouldn't miss them for anything. One thing I dont like, is I can't really Tivo my own shows to watch later because my parents watch different shows than I do at the same time. So I go in their room and watch my shows or wait till later and watch them online, either way... I watch them!

Do any of you have shows that you love to watch and you cant wait until the next episode comes on? Feel free to leave your comments in the comments... obvi. :)

Does ANYBODY even read my blog?

Hello.... Is anyone there??.... I'm blogging here... just wondering if anyone reads it..... Hello???..... Someone please answer..... :(

But seriously... does anyone really read my blog??? Do you just read my blog and then NOT comment? uggh, I guess I need some sort of satisfaction that people actually take the time to blog or read blogs.

I'm thinking about closing it... any thoughts?

ANYONE AT ALL.... :(

What did I learn in Stake Conference??? (Sept 18-19)

I learned....

"We must build enduring faith in Jesus Christ by saving & rescuing souls.
- Be dilligent and encouraging." President Droubay

Alma taught his people that in order to gain salvation they must:
1. Repent & Keep the Commandments
2. Be born again
3. Cleansed in the blood of Christ
4. Be humble
5. Do good works

That is the only way WE can gain salvation as well. We can only rid our lives of the worldly things, if individually come unto Christ and do all we can to do the right things all the time.

We must make family prayer, family history, and family scripture study a priority in your life, so it wont be a struggle for you and it will be a blessing. :)

D&C 68:6 Be of good cheer and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you and will stand by you.

We must have faith and hope in the Lord when doubt and fear comes.

We are in our own "mission field" just like the missionaries, so we must be doing all we can to bring souls unto Christ.

"We should not go to our maker and say that we didn't teach anyone about the church because we are too busy, too shy, or whatever the case may be. --Every member a member. -said by Elder Wilkinson

Helaman 5:12 No matter the trial or struggle we are faced with, we must ALWAYS build our foundation on the Savior Jesus Christ.

"It is a silly thing for us to be offended out of the church."-Elder Dallin H. Oaks

Never give up hope when rescuing those who have fallen away. They will be saved;we all will.

"Time and truth are on your side" -Elder Anderson

We must attend the temple, do family history work, be anxiously engaged in sharing the gospel and finding people for the missionaries to teach, have faith and pray for the work to progress in places where missionary work is not yet available, and serve others. -President Pace

"Personal testimony is the foundation of our faith" -M. Russell Ballard

Every breath Jesus Christ took was all about love.
-His message is essential to returning to Heavenly Father. His message is still being taught today by members and missionaries.
-His ministry of miracles. Which are still being performed by worthy priesthood brethren.
-His mission of being able to pay the price for all mankind (The Atonement). Which is the single greatest act in the history of mankind.

"We must know of the love of God for all of His children and serve them all." -Elder Oaks

Testimony Gloves
1. Heavenly Father lives.
2. Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of the world.
3. Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. He restored the gospel and translated the Book of Mormon.
4. The Church of Jesus Christ is the true church on the earth.
5. We have a prophet on the earth today. (Thomas S. Monson)

"Dont be stupid!" -Elder Oaks

D&C 38:42 Go ye out from among the wicked; save yourselves. Be ye clean the bear the vessels of the Lord.

As you can see... I learned alot this conference. I was truly edified and am so thankful for the amazing opportunity it was to hear from an apostle of the Lord.

I just love Church! :)

Home

Oak City is and always will be my home. I've moved back in case some of you who read don't know about my life. Some days it's very eventful, other days it's very UNeventful.

Jennie has gone back to work so one, sometimes two days a week I go down to watch her kids. They are sure a handful but I do love babysitting them. I get to know each of them individually and it's just nice to be out of the house. I've put myself on the sub list at the schools to be a substitute lunch worker, janitor, and teacher. Although, I have to wait till the 21st of September to take this online class to be a substitute teacher, but I'm sure I will get called to be a sub at least once maybe twice a week. Who knows? Maybe I have my hopes up too high.

I've been going to the single's ward and have been loving it thus far. Its so nice to be in an environment with people my age striving to do the same things I am, which is doing whats right and coming unto Christ. Its nice to have friends with the same values. I'm going to a single adult party tonight in Gunnison with a friend from the singles ward. Her name is Becca. I didn't want to go unless Becca was going because I knew Chris would freak out if I went alone and there would be other single guys there. I knew that if I had a wingman (woman) there I could just be around her and no one would confront me. Hey, if all else fails, I'll tell everyone I'm engaged and put my ring on my left finger. :) But I am grateful they started the singles ward so I could be around people my age trying to do whats right too.

I'm watching the Murphy kids on Monday, and really looking forward to it. This will be my first time ALONE watching Kaylin and both of the babies. (Last time I just watched Kay and Ash) We'll see if I could ever have twins, but I'm sure I'll just leave it to Bobbie to have the twins. ;) Maybe after Monday, I REALLY won't want to have kids of my own. I've decided I don't want babies from newborn to 7 months and I don't want kids from 3-18. HAHA! Basically I want 8 months-3 years. And I would maybe have a 5 year old, just so I could take them to school. If only it worked that way. A girl can dream right???

I totally just ditched mom so she could watch the HGTV show by herself. Dang, I kinda wanted to see that reveal... ugggh. Oh well. I blogged, so ya'll should be happy! And for those of you who do blog and read my blog and you haven't updated yours in WHO KNOWS HOW LONG.... shame on you!!! Now... go update yours so I can see what you're doing with your lives... you know who you are... (Jennie, Jenny, Leah, Val, Monica Miller, Karina, Sarah, Tiffany, Javan, Chelse' Kay, Whitney Lynn, and Chelise!) As for the rest of you.... Thank you for updating.

Expectations VS. Trust

I've been thinking a lot lately about expectations and trust. Is it an expectation for all of us to trust those who have hurt us or should we just trust someone without any expectations?

I think both can work, but is it good? We should be expected to trust someone based ONLY on the truth and not what they've done in the past. They may have been forgiven for the wrong they've done or made a vow to themselves to not lie anymore and are doing a great job at changing. We can only expect the truth from someone until that trust is broken, then we have free rights to not expect anything more or less from them until they either apologize for lying or we just get so sick of the lies that we let go of them. But then, when they've lied you get the building up the trust again when they've apologized; and thats not very good. (Depending on the lie, I guess.)

You can also trust someone without expecting anything from them too, right? Only expecting them to tell the truth? And having faith and hoping they will always tell you the truth for you to trust them? Its harder for someone to trust someone if they've continuously lied to you, especially if you KNOW they are lying to you and they completely deny it. You shouldn't be expected to go on trusting someone who obviously cannot be trusted.

I think trust and expectations, go hand in hand. You in more ways have to expect someone to be trusted in order to trust what is expected of them, which is to tell you the truth. Confusing, I know. But these are my thoughts tonight.

Goodnight world!

Happiness!!! :)

"Sometimes you think that when you've done such a terrible job at something then someone recognizes you did a great job just makes you want to strive to always do a great job!" (Yes, that is my status update) I made this up myself, who'd have thought I still had my poetic bug in my system from high school??

This all stemmed from me giving a talk a few weeks ago. I was super nervous because it had been over 2 years since I've given a talk, and wasn't very confident in my speech giving. The day came and I was more and more nervous as time went on. I sat up on the stand and noticed how many people were there and about peed my pants and wanted to walk out. I had the opportunity to speak with two return missionaries, that just made me think that I was so much more under qualified to give that talk. Alex was speaking first and his talk was mostly a blurr because I was so worried about how my talk was going to be. Finally it was my time to get up and talk about FAITH! It went well and people complimented me alot! I was surprised!

Yesterday I came home and had a letter for me on the table and it was from an amazing woman who I had no idea I even existed, she complimented me on my talk and it just made me feel very good about myself. She will never know how much that small card impacted me and those kind words have impacted me especially in this hard week that I've had. Now I want to send her a card back thanking her for thanking me for my talk! :)

People are amazing! :) At least this person!

Update on the update!

I put my two weeks in at Michaels! My last day is next Saturday the 14th, so I won't be moving home till next weekend! :( But it will be good to get a good last paycheck! :) I'm very excited to move home and cannot wait to get out of Orem. Isn't that the other way around??? That people want to get out of Oak City to go to Orem? HAHA funny... silly me!
